This is my personal blog.  I have started and stopped blogging for several years now but have just recently started again in earnest.  The primary driving force was my move into Internet Marketing.  That learning process has been an interesting journey and I felt like I wanted to record my impressions and experiences along the way.

I have almost 40 years experience in the computer world with a long path through many generations of computers, languages, and styles of programming.  Over the last 25 years, I have led and managed many software development projects and have developed a number of unique approaches to planning and managing projects.  However, with the job market the way it is and a lot of frustration with the whole environment, I am focusing almost exclusively on the Internet Marketing.  However, I still maintain several companies and work with several in a management and development role.

  • Ridgeline Management Consultants – RMC is my company that specializes in consulting with companies about their Project Management processes.  I also do training and public speaking.
  • Ridgeline Software – RLSoft is my software development company.  I do both desktop and website development myself as well as working with sub-contractors.  I have a number of groups that do some amazing work.
  • Ridgeline Artisans – this is my wife’s company.  She imports jewelry from around the world and sells it online and at local crafts fairs and farmer’s markets.  It provides a great opportunity for us to travel around the world.
  • Monkey-Toes – this is a small company that makes hand painted shoes for children.  The company has been in existence for >6 years and sells both online and through wholesale channels.  If you have children or grand-children, you definitely need to take a look.
  • 18 Principles – this is a charity where I sit on the Board of Directors.  The organization is focused on providing a solid, philosophical pathway to a better life for kids and adults.  We focused on middle and high school children primarily, and provide a secular, non-confrontational approach to developing life skills.  We have found that these programs are a positive influence to keep the children from the depths of despair and suicide.
  • Venture Associates – this is a company that focuses on the creation of Private Placement Memorandum (PPM) for small startup companies to raise money through this channel.
  • Braun BioSystems – this company is developing a laboratory medical instrument that uses patented techniques for measuring the clotting characteristics of blood.  Their first device is in the final throws of development and testing before moving to clinical trials and FDA approval.  They are looking for investors to continue their work.
